A shame, but I guess it's all a matter of taste.

Yes, it's the new urban sound, people in tracksuits 'rapping' about how hard life in Tower Hamlets is. It's supposed to be anti-bling, "it's grimy on da street".

Whilst Grime will be about as relevant in 10 years as piano hardcore, speed garage and trip-hop, rock will live on, so you're on the winning side, most likely.

Here is Grime on Wikipedia, basically it's the latest black urban electronic thing, with simple, yet weak, beats and massive basslines (the only good bit), plus some bloke rattling on about living in Peckham an' ting.

Change the channel? No-one else plays alternative music, it's that simple. Basically I'm saying Radio 1 used to be relied upon to give you at least something worth listening to, but now it has lost it, although you could argue I'm just not understanding this new-fangled youth dancing music.

It all changed when John Peel died - he was the one beacon of hope of hearing something a little different.

Urban music my arse - they are just all gangsta wannabes and would take the bling as much as look at you if they could get it.

Taking the bling - it's the ultimate black music paradox. They want to make as much money as they can, they move out of the ghetto, yet they want to keep it real. And I'm sure even these grime people with their alleged anti-bling stance still go "check dese trainers".

And what's this, you replying? I thought your works had clamped down on that. Or are you just having a day off? *hug*
