If you haven't heard the news yet, I am offical engaged to Nikki Smith. Wedding date is Sep. 8th. That is all for now.

What's with these long engagements nowadays?

Teyana and I were engaged July 3rd, got married Oct. 19th that year. Makes me wonder what would have happened had we waited till the next year... marriage stronger, exactly the same, not married at all? Eh...

Wow. Now, that seems like a short engagement....wedding-planning-wise. It took me 6 months from dress-shopping day 1 to wedding to get it all in line. I am impressed.

Matt and I waited for so long because of school--we wanted one of us to be graduated before we got dropped from all the parental help and insurance and things.

Well, see, we didn't have a chocolate fountain, either, so I guess that makes for a quicker turnaround time, too. :-)

But yeah, for some reason, quick engagement periods were the norm at my college (BYU). Maybe because of the strict taboo on pre-marital sex, who knows...
