First the good news since the last time I wrote. Dan is definitely bumping me up to a Planner II in August, which is the earliest that HR would allow that to happen. Annie and I had our second serious round of house hunting on Friday after work. We liked three of the four houses, and two of them warranted serious consideration. A breakdown of each place's pros and cons:

• House is turn key, only a couple of small items need to/could be addressed.
• Nice details in the kitchen

We found a house that needed some TLC on a beautiful lot backing up to some woods for a below market price on Saturday. The house needs carpet, paint and appliances, but is otherwise good. Even with the cost of doing those things, the overall price would be well below comparable homes - homes that don't necessarily have the great natural area ( Read more... )

The house hunt was a bit of a bust. Despite our wanting to like the townhouses, something was missing and they were a little disappointing. Would either one be a good, decent place to live? Sure. On the 12th we found out that we will be having a little girl come August. The whole gender reveal thing felt super fast since it was first thing in the morning and because the tech found out that she was a she almost instantly and with no doubt whatsoever.
