G. stayed home from work today, so I got to sleep until 10.30 and then have a leisurely breakfast of apple-raisin bread (with Devon cream & honey) and coffee and conversation.  My breakfasts usually involve all of these things, but often at a rush, since we never get up quite as early as we ought to ( Read more... )

Any attempt I make to settle down in front of the computer & read livejournal (or write in mine) is immediately interrupted by the phone ringing off the hook.

I'm not losing my temper, really I'm not, but *oooh* it's frustrating.

Last night I dreamed that burgotastic was the same Tim I went to high school with, and that we'd been talking on the phone a lot because he was pretty depressed.  Towards the end of the dream he called me up and told me, "I figured out what's wrong!  I'm in love with *mumble* and I was depressed because I hadn't told her!  But now I've asked her to marry me ( Read more... )

I'm feeling happy this morning, tenatively happy -- it feels very fragile and I keep expecting it to shatter in a moment like blown glass and I'll be depressed again.  But so far the happiness holds, and I am listening to 80s music that makes me giggle a little and sigh a little, and drinking coffee, and eating the last of my apple-raisin toast ( Read more... )

I love my kitten very very very much, but why does she decide she wants to sit in my lap on the day that my only clean comfortable clothing is a black skirt upon which her white-creamy-tan fur shows up?

But there's no denying it, she adores me and wants to be next to me constantly today, and will not take No for an answer.

It's a beautiful bright spring morning, without much wind and the sun coming in through my bedroom window, making the bed even more tempting than usual.  For breakfast there were the first local strawberries, big and ripe and sweet, though not as juicy as they'll be in another few weeks.
