i saw this screening at school last night and i feel a bit conflicted about it. i also read the book a few years ago, and for the most part the film seemed faithful to the book minus the ending. the entire visual aspect of the film is really beautiful. i loved the costumes and the dancing, and it was crazy to see zhang yi or whatever her name is ( Read more... )

i love love love deerhoof. they are a band that makes me super happy. onyi and i got to the echo just in time for deerhoof's set. we had a pretty crappy view actually, the column thing got in the way and we could only see one person at a time. they are great and sorta different each time i see them. greg the drummer was super nice and friendly. this isnt very profound but i realized that enon is none spelled backwards. it took me a long time to realize that for some reason.

also, on a side note, i'm looking foward to that johnny cash movie that is coming out. i hope it's good.
