I'm glad you guys are okay! Just yesterday I saw a friend here in Boston who told me his place burned down right before the New Year due to an electrical fire. He and his roommates lost almost everything they had. I don't think I even have a fire extinguisher in my apartment- I've gotta fix that!
thanks man. i'm really thankful that everything turned out okay in the end, but i do not recommend waking up to a hallway full of smoke. get a fire extinguisher soon, i don't want you to burn up!
I know, right?!? Paranoia was at an all time high yesterday. But maybe it was actually a helpful event, because it helps show how many things are completely out of our control?
it is all okay now. one wants full jammies to sleep in these days anyway, so its not as bad as when it used to happen in the summer and i had to scurry to find pants.
okay! everything is better now although you can tell there's a funny acrid smell as you approach the corner our building is on, then it fades until you enter our lobby where it is quite strong, then you get used to it again. and the stupid cosi is closed due to "flooding". which, yeah, it probably did flood when their sprinkler system came on and the fire department shot their water-wad into it. the cat has now forgiven us. she's not very bright.
fucking hell!!! i'm glad you & your hubby & your fuzzy are all intact & non-singed by the experience... to quote south park, as my brain is mere mush, "don't burn us, please."
