For some reason, my cat has changed colour.

Yes, my black cat is now bright pink. The idiot who messed with my familiar will have hell to pay once I find out. That and the fact that she hasn't left the house in a week, being unwell, so the person who did it somehow got into my house to do it I'm scared. Grr ( Read more... )

That is just too mean. Who would do that to a cat? True, Fred and George used to charm Mrs Norris blue on occasion. But that's Mrs Norris. Perhaps you could take it to Madam Pomfrey or Hagrid in the school and see what they can do about it.

I think it safely comes under the animal cruelty heading, personally. She didn't know what was going on, poor thing.

If I can't figure out what's going on then I think I'll have to take her into school. I mean, if someone charmed her fur then that would need different treatment to transfiguring it or putting a potion in her food.

Well, someone of McGonagall or Flitwick's calibre should have her back to her old self in no time. I'd offer to drop in and get her on my way to work, but I don't know what I'd do with her for the rest of the day.

Does anyone know what the cat thinks of the change? Perhaps it enjoys being hot pink.

Terence, how would you feel if someone broke into your house and made you look completely unlike your usual self and/or very ridiculous while you slept? Poor Matilda has been completely terrified. She saw her reflection in her water bowl and now I can't even get her out from hiding under the sofa!

Wouldn't think that cats would notice colour. Ridiculous is a matter of opinion, of course.

Though, I am sorry if I seem less than sympathetic. Kind of because I am less than sympathetic, but I'm working on it. Let's take Matilda up to Hogwarts and then come out for a drink with me. It'd cheer you up.
