So I just saw some great photos posted in abstractphoto, and was going to give kudos to the photographer. But when I got to his/her page, it was one of those über-customized LJ abortions, with weird shit all over the page and the userinfo/friends/recent links disguised under idiotic poetic crap

Weeeelelll, I'll tell ya--although I generally agree with you on the dreadlock issue, I have this one friend who is a beautiful, petite little blonde dancer who has dreadlocks that she always styles into funky beehive things on the top of her head. Now she is hott! I'm sure you'd like her, but she's getting married this fall. ;)
