I got your call while I was on the phone with dad - I'm not going to call back tonight because I am exhausted and I have to work tomorrow morning, but we'll talk again soon. Plus, I figure you were calling to tell me to call dad...

I am about 200 (large print) pages into 1916. I like it! The writing is on the whole not overly flowery and poetic, and the story is very interesting to me. There are all kinds of historical/anthropological/political bits and pieces thrown in. I also just love reading for fun again; it feels so luxurious!

So I know I'm supposed to be rejoicing, and I am, and the tenor of these songs may not seem to match that mood. But I think that any song that really stirs your emotions is worthy of celebration ( Read more... )
