Sunday afternoon devolved (evolved?) into reading
The rain has given much this afternoon: help to the garden and two insightful articles updating organic evolution, esp. the discontinuities: New Yorker 5/11 p. 50 (Copnik) and 5/25 p. 52 (Kolbert.)

In the last week, we've seen The Counterfeiters and The Reader, and can recommend both for keeping your attention - at the time and after. easiest airspeed
Throw a paper airplane, watch a leaf drop (other than straight down), or lose an engine when flying and need to think thigs over while shopping for an accommodating landing spot, and you find a naturally efficient airspeed that gives keeps a body in the air the longest. time. On the counter, once I got the coffee going, I found the newsletter from the Octavia bookstore in New Orleans, one of our 2 favorites (the other is Lemuria here in Jackson.) Live Free or Die
I have a sweatshirt, given by friends of many years in Warren NH, that I bring out on cool nights. We'll be close to 35 tonight. More on that in a moment. I don't wear it out.
