If any of you play Minecraft, I found a pretty cool mod:  pokemobs.  Basically, they are putting all original 150 pokémon in minecraft, as catchable mobs.  

Auckland Uni has just decided that everyone has to change their passwords. Your password must be 8 characters - no more, no less. WTF? If I want to use a 15 character password, you should let me!

This artist has some pretty cool/horrific looking realistic-style pokemon art. I never realised just how Lovecraftian some pokemon are. Take a look at muk. Looks like a shoggoth. And Likitung is a dead ringer for the God of the Bloody Tongue.

I found this comic on password strength quite enlightening. Basically, when users are forced to make "random" passwords containing letters, numbers and other characters they usually follow certain patterns, which means they have far less randomness than you would expect. 11 of the 13 of my friends on Steam who are in a game are playing Portal 2.

We went and saw Hop last night. I liked it :)

Ok, so the plot wasn't great, and the acting was very cheesy at times. But hey, cute bunny. Plus he doesn't wear pants.

I bought a moped. Petrol prices are going up and up, as are train ticket costs; I figure that even buying one brand new I can save enough to have it pay for itself within a year. Also, I am getting a bit sick of the two-and-a-half hours I spend each day just traveling. I think that a moped would cut that time down quite a bit, not to mention ( Read more... )
