I recently found out that last week my favorite author died. It's doubtful that a lot of people know his work, and my friends probably only recognize the name from my gushing about him. Man, I love the perks of having a brother on the staff of the NY Daily News! Since I didn't get to go to a playoff game last year, my brother got me tickets to see Yankees v. Red Sox tonight!!! It was a very good movie - artistically, a beautifully done film, black and white with dots of color that added a lot to both the characters and the plot. Suprisingly, the three stories told wove together well enough to be a cohesive, coherent piece, and the performances on the whole were thought-out and sincere.
