I never thought I would say this, but: I need it to NOT snow. I leave on Friday for Finland, and if DC gets any more snow, my flight may get messed up, and that's the one that takes me to Copenhagen. I'm sitting here wearing a half-finished sock. I discovered a new wool/alpaca blend the last time I went to Joann's, and since I'm trying to make as many socks as possible before heading to Finland, I'm knitting it quickly using a 5mm (US 8) 12" circular needle. It's not the first pair I've made in such a manner, but this is certainly the softest, ( Read more... ) -

I bought a loom. Waited anxiously for two weeks for it to arrive, then got it out the box and it's broken. Ok, so I'm exaggerating a little: there's some cosmetic damage on a piece that is easily replaced. Talked to a really nice guy at Ashford, and they're sending me a new one. I wish I could copy and paste from last year's novel attempt. I'm having a really hard time getting my word count this year, and I'm not enjoying any of it. Last year I had some tough times, but also a lot of really good ones. I also wish I had someone here in Ohio with whom to write. I'm mostly just typing in order to try out using a computer with these ridiculous gloves on. It seems to be going fairly well, but I have a better keyboard here than at work. And this wig is going to drive me crazy; it keeps getting in my mouth and eyes, making it impossible to see. This is going to be a fun day. I'm sure by now my own hair looks ( Read more... ) -

My stomach hurts for no discernible reason. It has since yesterday afternoon. Thank god tomorrow is my day off; I'm going to sleep and sleep and sleep and not worry about anything, except maybe my Halloween costume (the party will already have started by the time I get off work, so I'll be dressed up all day). To bed!
