I'm sad to see this end. They are the rough and tumble J and E that are rarely written about. They are the unglamorous, realistic versions of men of their time and geography. The thing that makes me happy is they ended with hope.

I know you just ended this story but I hope you find something else to share. I will miss this version of J and E, their world and your storytelling.

Thank you.

I love the original J&E. As you say, rarely written about yet so compelling.

And I miss them too! I woke up this morning and realised I didn't have to think about them any longer - and felt sad :) So there may be more, once they start talking to me again.

Thank you so much. I think SS J&E knew so little about each other in so many important ways. It was fun getting them to learn more. If only they could have done that originally........

That was such a beautiful story and I enjoyed it all along the way! I am sad that it has come to an end but the ending was right. Well written! I hope that you will write some more for us!
Thank you for this!

I'm so pleased the ending seemed okay. I was worried it might fade into a lot of nothing. Thank you for all your comments too.

A beautiful story a beautiful end, I'm sad to see it end. I shed many tears along with your Characters, felt their sorrow, setbacks and most of all affection, love between two men powerful enough to fight to keep it. As I viewed the film sobbing, Ennis driving off and Jacks grief in his eyes chiseled itself into my heart. This photograph of the truck with Ennis and Jack driving off to a life with each other is the most wonderful sight to see. Thank you and all those who assisted and backed you to finish this great story. I do hope you write some more even if it is not about Ennis and Jack, I love you method of writing.
Hugs

Thank you so much, Torry. Yes, I will continue to write. That's one of the great things I've got from BBM.

The truck pic is one I took last year BTW. It really is the road to Lightning Flat. Strictly speaking, in my story they'd be driving two trucks and have the horses as well but I love the pic and wanted to include it ;)

Beautiful from the first word and such a melancholy and touching ending. The quiet understanding that each was the other's reality and that so long as they were together, nothing more was needed. Thank you, thank you.

And thank you too, my dear. "The quiet understanding that each was the other's reality and that so long as they were together, nothing more was needed." That's a lovely summing up. Did the pic bring back memories?
