THE OUTLAND

Genre: AU
Rating: NC-17 (for entire story)
Feedback: Any and all is welcome
Disclaimer: These are Annie Proulx's brilliant original characters and her story, and I have treated it and them (and her) with as much respect as I can muster.
This story is for Canstandit, and this chapter maybe should be subtitled "Ranch Life".

Love this story every day a lot of more!!! Every time I read a new chapter I spend at least the night thinking about it. Always poetry, tenderness, a kind of sadness and much love. Bittersweet stunning writing, precious imagery ( ... )

good job. very realistic ranch details.

hmmm..'there was no reply, just a quiet click as the caller hung up.'

It's incredible to me you think this would sound like the Rancher's Life when what you have accomplished here is the ultimate sunshine drenched "little cow and calf operation." I'm going to the fiction thread and recommending this chapter for everyone, even those who don't read this story for whatever reason.

I don't think Alma calling is so bad. I think that his kids will stand by their daddy, and they should know who he is.

What I do find imposible to believe, though, is that Rob doesn't know. I mean, come on!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, he MUST. WildColummbine, what is your take on that?

You know, Juliet, Rob is only seventeen and maybe he doesn't want to know what others may see more easily. Kids can be like that. Heavens, Ennis was like that for 20 years. But Rob will grow, believe me.
