I like to think of Jack as regaining that boyish joy he had at the start, before the years wore him down. And his devilish side is fun to play with :D

It was just so beautiful that Ennis took Jack with him to see the girls...I can imagine what that did for Jack.... Thank you for another lovely chapter in this wonderful story!

Yes, poor Jack has such a strong need to be loved and accepted. Thank you for continuing to read my story.

Love the teasing between Ennis and Jack especially love Ennis telling Jack he's not taking his eyes off of him ever again. Jack getting the gifts for the girls Ennis wanting Jack and his girls to meet, all good things.
The unpleasant look is still in Alma's eyes, when she glares at Jack, but then I can't really blame her.She did lose the man she loved and her dreams went up in smoke.
I hope Jack is not up to some tricks and Ennis loses his cool, I think he is still a little skittish with all that's happened to them.
Thank you for a wonderful chapter.
Hugs
Torry

Spot on, Torry. Ennis is indeed skittish and Jack doesn't always read him well.

About a year ago (story time) everything was horrible and Ennis took a brave decision. Now they are happy and I love this story and thank you so much for sharing. Martha

Martha, it is my absolute pleasure. I like the sense of time passing, the pattern of the seasons and the contrast between one year and another.

Like this chapter much. I am surprised how relaxed Ennis was with his girls and Jack.
Looking forward for more.
Thanks Emmy

I'm inclined to think he'd be a bag of nerves underneath, Emmy, but he's realising he has to try to do things he used to run from.
