Seriously, what is up with people being afraid of rock n' roll these days? It's like everyone is afraid that if they don't look down their nose at anything with a guitar solo, then they're going to lose all of their precious indie street cred. My parents no longer own a working turn-table, so I was just given permission to raid their vinyl collection for whatever I want. My mom says they'll just be glad that it's being used and not sitting in a box in the front closet. In a perfect world, I would take it all, but I grabbed these things. I just want the world to know that I just received a Myspace message from a 26-year-old male which reads:

"nice eyes. do you work out?"

So I just ordered the most expensive chunk of my books for this semester from Amazon. Ooof. Cheaper than the Emerson bookstore. But still, it hurts.

My mom just gave me her copies of London Calling and My Aim is True on vinyl. I feel that this is a really big step in mother-daughter bonding.
