I just got my "bucket" of 8 o'clock meds. This shift's nurse is new, but she seems nice and also competent and the PCT for this shift is one of my favorites, so I am settling in and feeling like it's going to be a good night

WOW...i cant believe your PCT was that irresponsible. i cant stand it when they dont do there job right. in other jobs it may be acceptable to slack off and be a dumbass but if you work in the hospital then you should follow every rule and guideline to the T. When other peoples lives are at risk, it adds another meaning to the word customer(patient) service lol. I had a nurse fired in Janurary because of the same issues. he said that he had other patients he needed to attend to first to my parents as i was literally gasping for air. i was put into the icu the following morning. he later tried to apologize to me and my parents, my mom told him to go shove it up his ass :) Love my mom!
Ugh. That's just terrible when they slack on their jobs that involve your and other patients health. I cannot believe they didn't want to give you CPT. That's their job! and wow at actually making comments to you about other patients..that's just not right.
Wow... just wow. I actually will NOT use a vest. I get clausterphobic. Usually once I'm feeling well enough I do exercise, but until then the PT's do therapy manually. Every time. I've never had one complain. Ever. Actually, the most trouble I've ever had with a PT is them wanting me to do stuff when I REALLY have wanted to get out of it because I'm not feeling well. I'm not sure what a percussor is

That is awesome that you mom is nurse! You really know all the ins and outs then.
I'm out of ICU and in a regular room now. Still cannot walk to the bathroom by myself (even though the bathroom door is about 6 feet away from me), so I have had to use a commode. Sad too, because this floor of the hospital was recently redone and the bathrooms are actually really nice! Well, I guess that gives me something to strive for - to use the nice new bathroom - ha! Sad but true.
Maybe I'm spoiled... but I can't live without a real bathroom. If it were me, I'd be calling that nurse in to walk me to the bathroom every time. That's one of the few things I'm pretty insistent on... bathroom time is ME time. It's the little bit of privacy I can keep for me. I'm too stubborn sometimes. I suspect people want to MURDER me when I get like that.
It's amazing how many aids are that dumb, I had one get mad at me cuz I told her she had to use alcohol to wipe off my PICC line before injecting anything into it and she told me alcohol dose nothing and she didn't want to do it, so i pulled my arm away and told her she's not touching my PICC unless it is cleaned with alchool first hello trying to get me an infection

That is horrible. I don't even know what I would do if I woke up and there was blood dripping from my port. How scary for you. Yes, she definitely should have been fird.
I do have stacks of those lovely yellow gowns right when you enter my room at the little "nurses station." You can't miss them.
That's not cool st all that you had to room with someone else, esp. if you don't have MRSA. Luckily all the rooms on this floor are singles, so at least I do not have to worry about that.
My docs were telling me a while back that there was a guy that wanted to work on opening a cf hospital that looked more like a resort and was tailored for the needs of people with cf - I think we need to get him to speed up the process!!!
