Oh, Lordy. I just stormed out of choir practice in a huff because the person who was trying to teach us her song was pissing me off so much. It's not that she's a bad person, or even that I dislike her; I just can't stand the way she teaches. Thanks, FIL update, and a mini-rant
Just want to thank all of you for your incredibly kind words of encouragement when my father-in-law had his stroke almost three weeks ago. He's hanging in there -- there were a number of times when it looked as if we were going to lose him, but the last couple of days he's been sitting up and actively communicating. Crappity
My father-in-law's had a stroke, and they're not sure whether he's going to make it through the night. My husband is looking at plane tickets to fly back east tomorrow. Not sure what I'll do -- I'd love to be there for him and my MIL, but I can't just take off and leave the kids and the critters. Not to mention that I'm still recovering from foot ( Read more... ) -

I see that my last post here was about the mystery dog who ran into our kitchen back in November. His name turned out to be Trouble, and we did find his family. He's an elderly yellow lab with a history of running off -- the family evidently found one of our old flyers last week and called to say they wanted their dog back, because he'd gotten out ( Read more... ) -

My spouse was out doing some yard work this morning and left the front door open, and in bounded a very friendly male yellow Lab wearing a collar but no tag. He ran right into the kitchen and ate up our dog's leftover food and slurped down all her water ( Read more... ) -
Gunnerkrigg Court
Thanks to the lovely and amazing rahirah, I discovered Gunnerkrigg Court today. It's an online, serial graphic novel that combines some of the best aspects of Harry Potter and Buffy with a whole lot of totally original stuff. Once Upon a Time
I watched the pilot of "Once Upon a Time" last night and liked it a lot -- in fact, I only meant to watch the first 15 minutes or so but got sucked in and watched the whole thing. Really enjoyed all the characters and wasn't bored for a single moment. Also, Emma Caulfield will be guesting later in the season. Anyone else see it? What did you think? -
