terry pratchett
Terry Pratchett just announced that he's suffering from early onset Alzheimer's. While this is really sad news, i'm glad that he's still being upbeat about the whole thing, and in typical Pratchett fashion wrote: "...this should be interpreted as 'I am not dead'. I will, of course, be dead at some future point, as will everybody else..." -

i just learned that Robert Jordan passed away last sunday, September 16. RIP. sadly, he was unable to finish the final book for The Wheel of Time, even though he continued work on it until his death. i admire his devotion to his work. -
