Ok. So I have music written and I have been trying to write lyrics for the last few days. I think I have something but I am not sure. This is kind of a riff on section 25 of Song of Myself by Walt Whitman. Or rather, it is inspired by it and has direct references and quotes to the beginning of the poem. before I woke up

I think it is unfinished and I am still unsure of it.

Ok, I really like this one, BUT it feels a little bit shaky as if at any moment it might collapse to the ground. There is a girter or a support beam missing and and it's structure is dangerously close to falling apart. I feel as if it only needs one or two more lines to tie the entire thing together but I have no idea what they are right now. I am ( Read more... )

Oh,
Wise whittler of words
you cut bark from branch of wood
Yet it is not the tree that you efface
You cut the knots from off its face
Then from that totem a box is made
And put in the empty space
all there is
