I realize that this is a bit out of character for me, but I just watched the Democratic YouTube-CNN debates, and I wanted to take a minute to write down my impressions of the candidates as I saw them. I'm home, I'm alive, I'm tired. I'll write about the last few days sometime when I can remember where all the keys are on american keyboards.

SO! Italy is still great, mising home a little, but I'll be back in Massachusetts soon enough (Sunday, for those of you who actually wanted to know). I've been doing a lot of walking around, still, and my feet are ANGRY, but I will make sure to treat them nicely when I get back to the states. Yesterday Franny went on a trip with the school (it cost 30Euro and I didn-t really feel like spending all that much on a trip to more churches and wandering around when I can do that here for free) so I went on a 5 hour walk around the city. OK, so As you all probably know, Italy won the world cup!!! I have never heard a whole city collectively cheer at the same time, but that happened in Florence when they won. It was amazing. I was at a smallish piazza near the apartment we're staying in, and there were maybe 2000 people there total (better than the 20000 that were at Piazalle ( Read more... )

well, home again. It's good to be back, though I kind of wish it would stop raining.
