nobody's little weasel

Happy Thanksgiving! If you are Canadian. We all know real Thanksgiving isn't for a month or so.Now I know I told you to punch me in the face if I posted anything not related to things I am supposed to be working on between now and mid-December, but I respectfully request that you...don't. It's just a wee little kinkmeme fill! Sometimes I miss the ( Read more... )

I totally meant to comment on this the other day, and then, um, failed to. But ohhhhhh this was so good. I love how much Eames overthinks everything, and how he totally finds all the people with the pieces of the puzzle and still can't get it together until Arthur finds the notebook, and Arthur's defensiveness, and Arthur's BAMFy dropping the response in Eames's pocket, and Ari and the zombie pub crawl, and WAFFLES.

And now i want some waffles. DAMN YOU.

I always want waffles. SUCK IT UP.

I mean: thank you! And, yeah, I don't know what Eames' deal is, though it probably would have helped if Cobb had REMEMBERED ARTHUR WENT TO RISD, what.

OR MAYBE I'LL JUST GO GET SOME WAFFLES.

Ahahahaha Oh Cobb. HE'S ONLY YOUR BEST FRIEND AND THE DUDE WHO PUTS UP WITH ALL YOUR STUPID SHIT. (I find this to be an accurate characterization of Cobb.)

YOU DO THAT.

I'm not sure if I find it to be an accurate characterization of Cobb, but I find it to be a hilarious one, so...there's that.

I just got to college. I'm from Providence. I miss it terribly. This made me happier than you can believe. (Although I did want to smack Eames when he talked about finding bigger pastures, for being ungrateful of all that he has right where he is, but I think that has more to do with me than your writing.) And I miss my hipsters something awful. So, thank you for giving me that bit of home.

This was wonderful, and beautifully voyeuristic.

(I've never seen Amélie.)

Oh good! Well, I mean, I'm glad you enjoyed this--I actually haven't been to Providence since I was a kid, but I like using real locations for my stories and it's always nice when someone recognizes the location, if that makes sense, because usually the location is recognizable. And I am sorry you hated on Eames for wanting to leave. I feel the same way, about my places, though usually I hate on people for going to them as tourists and ~not understanding~ them or something. I'm full of nonsense.

Amelie does suffer from a lot of the problems Eames describes, but it's also charming, so I recommend watching it if you get a chance. I watched it over and over again when I was in high school, and like I said somewhere above I watched it so much I stopped liking it, and then I came back around to liking it again (in the way you do when you recognize something's flaws and are willing to look past them for the sake of fondness, nostalgia, some undefined other), so--

Thank you! I'm glad people enjoy my humor, because sometimes I'm not sure why anyone would. So--yes. And Cobb, poor Cobb, I don't know what's wrong with him, Mal is going to leave him for Ariadne.

I live with RISD Illustration majors in Providence. Now everywhere I go I'll be looking out for a moleskin!

All the Providencians (is that a word? what do you guys call yourselves?) are coming out of the woodwork for this one! I like it :) Thanks for commenting. No promises, as to what will be in the moleskine if you find one--I don't carry a moleskine, but I carry similar small notebooks and mine are rife with grocery lists and phone numbers.

Very belatedly, I finally read this delightful story! I am impressed as ever by the deftness of your writing, somehow both precise and evocative. I really like your characters. Thank you for sharing your talent ♥
