Resolutions
I had started coming up with a big list of resolutions, then I realized one would be enough to catch all of them. My goal this year is to be more realistic about what I can and can't do, so I a) stop beating myself up for not doing everything, and b) start following through more on what I can do. J and I were talking today about khelephant's recent admission that they are thinking about moving out to the Denver area. Laughing at myself
All night, I have been finding various excuses to go into the garage, to enjoy its majesty. J and I used S's valuable nap time today to clean up the disaster that was our garage, and unpack a few boxes that have been there since we moved in July. Broken enough for a black man to take the helm
Puzzle for the day: Bush has done so much to diminish the office of President. Would Obama (and Hillary) have been serious contenders if someone along the lines of the old John McCain had been President for the last eight years (i.e., someone halfway competent)? For all the computer savvy folks...
Say you are unfortunate enough to be working on a Windows machine, using Outlook. Say you are also mistakingly working on a Word document that you opened straight from an attachment in Outlook (without doing a "save as"). Say you are saving the document as you go (still not doing a "save as").

Judge not, lest ye find yourself without any friends
S and I usually go to a music class on Saturdays, but this Saturday we have a prior engagement, so we went today, instead. Our Saturday class is so great - mellow, calm, lots of fun singing, dancing, and playing instruments. The other kids are well-behaved, the parents are good about keeping their little ones in line, and everyone has a great time ( Read more... ) -
Missing something
I keep thinking I am forgetting something tonight, then realizing it is because Zoe isn't here. She is spending another night in the hospital. She was throwing up Tuesday and Wednesday, and couldn't keep anything down. We took her to the kitty ER last night, and they gave her IV fluids, along with an xray that showed something a potential blockage ( Read more... ) -
Having it all
Most days I love being a working mom. I get the best of all worlds: adult interaction during the day; feeling like I am doing something meaningful outside of the home; having fun with S and J before and after work; earning a decent salary; setting a good example for S; and knowing I am doing my part to keep our family in a good place economically ( Read more... ) -
Out of the frying pan
Today, with all of my spare time, I found another grant to apply for, and told my boss about it. Of course, he loved the idea. I'm sure there's a reason I spent my day looking for additional grants to apply for, but I'm not sure what that reason is at the moment.
