So I'm in the hospital again. Two months out, not to bad. I want to talk to the diabetes doctor about a pump, but I haven't seen him since the first morning here. I guess I should do some research online anyways ( Read more... )

Hey. I feel as if my pump helps me way more than shots ever did!! I would recommend one. The only crappy thing about the pump is you have something attached to you, 24/7. You can unhook it of course (for showering, sex, a break). I use the Anima One Touch Ping in PINK! I love PINK haha.

Ask about them.

I to have had a hard time with my veins and I have requested port. The doctor said not yet, however I have to go to IR all the time to have a picc put in and the surgeon told me my veins are done. However knowone has told me about the procedure you mentioned....curious about it...please let me know how it goes I am very scared I am going to get sick and they won't get a line in me. I am also new to this LJ.

The fistula is for dialysis. It SUCKS. You wouldn't need one unless your kidney's are failing. I have a port also, and I'll tell you, I was super scared to get it. The only reason is because nobody properly explained it to me though. Now that I have one, it makes me life a MILLION times easier. I don't regret it for one minute. Honestly, I wish I'd done it sooner. A LOT less pain than a picc, and much easier to deal with.
They stopped being able to get lines in me, which is why I got it. I was having to go down to IR every time too. But your doctor might be reluctant to recommend it because you get sick less often than I do. I'm sick almost every other month.
