The Saturn repair went mostly smoothly, though the new harmonic balancer turned out to be really really weak, and while putting it on a bit of it chipped off. This is bad, since these things are precision milled. So, I put the old one back on and found that re-seating it fixed the warppage in the first place. This is slightly befuddling, but... One of this weeks extra car projects is a real gem of a car. It was dropped off at my house by a co-workers daughter. Her step dad picked it up for her from $1200 from a neighbor, and she promptly had to do a total clutch repair on it. After that, some dude took the liberty of revving it till it stopped running.
