want some true Christian wisdom? (probably not... but this always gets me through those times)
Jesus, as he was hanging on the cross says about the people who did that to him "Forgive them, for they know not what they do."
People will always have their own ignorance and hatred... but do stupid shit because they think its the right thing to do... but you knwo its not. and others know its not.
Whenever I know people hate me because of their faith or whatever (myself, ironically enough considering myself to be Christian) I just think that they don't know that their very hatred that they claim is out of a divine love... is indeed human and therefore flawed. And as much as it sucks... i know they don't mean to hate or whatever... they just dont know/wont open to a better way. And that's something they'll have to live with. And *that* is justice ;-)
yeah i know that they really do belive they're doing the right thing and believe that they have the correct veiws and are just following the ideals of their religion. it just bothers me that they are so ignorant of the more important ideals of their religion... you know, love thy neighbor, and all that. they don't realize how very unchristian they are actually being by being so hurtful. if you wanna be a good christian and hold up the ideals of your god, then follow the ten commandments, ya know? if your god hates gays so much and thought gay-bashing was a priority, it would have been included in the commandments. people seem to forget the basic fundamentals of their religion, and just pick certain sins/sinners to rally against. and then at the end of the day they actually think they've been serving their god's will. ignorance.
That is one sad story. I would have been right in that lady's face, and done the same. Some people are just to ignorant and closed minded- living their life on such a simple, single track. How boring and lonely- she obviously had issues, how happy will she ever be? Her hate in not justified- yours is. Embarassed? I bet most of those people were feeling that for HER for making such a scene, not you, handling it in such a cool calm way. Idiot lady. This world will never change- I guess the best we can do is work toward making a small part of it better.
