Sorry to hear about the overwhelmingly stressful parts of your week, hon. Glad you had some good stuff in there to balance it out.

And you got your couch! I hope you'll be very happy together. ^_^

Thanks dear. Just a bad convergence.

My couch and I are truly made for each other. We enjoyed DVDs of The Colbert Report, Monty Python, and KITH!

Your couch has excellent taste! If it digs Blackadder, you'll be set for life! :D

Ok Sweetness, heres advice on stress relief. First, no matter what it is you stress over, stop, take a deep breath and then think.... Will my stressing alter this situation in any way? Second, realize that many things will happen just because its what they do. Theres not always a reason for things.
And remember this, at the end of the day ( whatever time it is) you'll go home and then all that stuff can be put out of your mind until next day. Home should be your place to relax and clear your mind. From the sound of things you seem to be doing well in your new job, just dont let the respnsibility of it wear on you. Sometimes you have to chew someones ass or even fire them, its all a part of being in charge, Dont make you a bad person. And from the sound of it, all of the ones who've gotten it, deserved it. I guess to distill it down, use my mantra " They can kill you but they cant eat you, so fuck 'em" ;) You'll be fine darlin!

I know stressing about things doesn't make a difference in solving the problem, but it's unavoidable for me. Usually, once the moment passes, I can deal with the situation and make decisions/act/whatever. But I just need that moment (or several) to burn off that energy so I can think clearly.

When I was in college, I was working my little campus job, and mentioned to one of the supervisors that I had two papers due the next day, and I hadn't started either one. And she commented that I was very calm about it. And I said that stressing about it wouldn't get them written, quite the opposite, in fact. So, I try to remember that, too, in moments of stress. You figure it would get easier with age, but apparently not.

I like the mantra; I will see if I can quietly put it up around my desk without anyone noticing.

You have an inner steel, for sure, darlin. The old saying "the hotter the fire the stronger the steel" shows that while you may stress, it never stops you doing what you need to. Just try not to cry, even if it IS helpful, never could stand to see a lady cry :)

Well, you probably know that we all need a little bit of stress in our lives, otherwise we'd probably just wither away. A healthy dose of stress now may indeed lessen the amount of stress we have to deal with later. On the other hand, ignorance is bliss.

You reminded me of a scene I once wrote, however, where a character is in a precarious situation and shouts out something to the effect, "I think I'm gonna be sick! What should I do?" Her friend yells back, "Don't worry, you'll do it!"

Since I do try to listen to myself, I suppose there's no need for me to give you any advice. Like most people, you'll figure things out all by yourself. Just know that I do understand, and, if that has any value, thank me very much. ;-)

I know. I guess I wouldn't stress about things if I didn't care about them, at least on some level, so I guess that's a good thing as well. And yes, "blissful ignorance" is one of my favorite phrases.

I need to find your books, I think I would get a lot out of them. And then I could brag that I "know" the author!

Once again, thank you Ed.
