When Lucy promised not to pull away the football one year, she gave Charlie Brown a signed affidavit saying that she would finally let him kick the ball.

After pulling it away yet again, she picked up the note and said, "Funny thing about this signed affidavit. It isn't notarized."

It was one of my favorite Peanut strips. That's so like life ... and people.
