I would like to post in this thing at least once a month. I think it's good for me to take a few minutes to think about where I am in life. I've been at my new job for about a month. It's been a month since I stopped working at the elementary school. It's been nice, but stressful not having a job. I learned that no matter how much time I have on my hands, the house will never be all the way "clean." Today I found out that I got a job! Yesterday was my last day filling in for the maternity leave. I was offered another maternity leave position at a different elementary school in Portage, but I am so done with being a fill-in it's not even funny. It would've only lasted until January and is at the school that hosts the emotionally handicapped program...talk about stressful. ( Read more... )

My temporary position at the elementary school ends in 4 weeks, so the job search has begun again! There was this really vague ad in the Chesterton Tribune about a position at a women's center. The ad only had a PO Box address. It didn't even have the name of the agency! Through some deductive work, I found which agency it was and e-mailed them ( Read more... )

The principal just called and they picked someone else who has more experience creating programs. Like, there's nothing else I feel I could have done up to this point to be any more qualified, it's a bit frustrating. Is it supposed to be this hard to find a stable job?

I am done with the interview, phew. The principal (she's new this year) was super nice and I think it went really well. It was a lot shorter than I expected and I was overprepared for it, but that's better than being underprepared I guess. She started off by telling me how much I would make...awesome! I love it.
