Nettle Beer update
Just finished racking (bottling) the nettle beer. The fermentation with the bread seems to work although it is a little weak. I'm hoping that in a couple of weeks in an bottle environment that the fermentation will strengthen a little bit more. The flavor is that of an IPA, actually pretty good. The rosemary extract that I've been asked to make is being a little more challenging than I thought. Looks like I need to reconstitute dried rosemary a bit before putting it in the alcohol. The batch I have now has taken 3 times as much vodka than the recipe calls for and the dried rosemary has absorbed most of the liquid. Hmmmm. -

Stopped by a vendor and put 3 baskets on consignment. I did this 3 hours ago and I'm still shaking. Promoting myself is a bit of a challenge as I prefer to be in the shadows. Life is pushing me out of my comfort zone, funny how that works. I've never been comfortable with human interaction, especially when it is with unknown humans. Hmmm.... ( Read more... ) -

I'm soooo glad that I walked from job number 2. We got a call from the Mr. wanting to know if they had been approved by a client that we referred. I told the Mrs. that the account had been approved 2 weeks ago. This is a classic example of some of the crap that I had to deal with there. -
Nettles with a different bite
The apt. smells like nettles, lemon and ginger. I've started the process for nettle beer by combining various recipes I've found on the net. Now the boiling commences followed by straining, cooling and adding yeast.
