Lately, I’ve been toying with the idea of running my own D&D campaign (Dungeons and Dragons for the non-geek or hole hiding people out there). I’ve never really gotten the opportunity to run a semi-long term one before and I’m interested in trying it out. The thing is, per my usual self, I want to mix it up a bit. This is what I’ve been thinking:

I all ready have quite a bit on my dork-plate (running one, playing in two, and I think possibly a couple others that need to be picked back up), but I could possibly have no problem DMing (co, or whatnot). And, to be honest, if it's your first time doing it, don't try to plan things out too far in advance. Just get a general idea of where you want things to go and then work on specifics are the characters near what you wants them to be doing.
Here's the reason for that: Players will ALWAYS do what you definitely do NOT expect them to do. Thus, it's hard to say "Well, I'll want them here doing such and such which will lead to here" unless you're damn sure you've got some plot hooks at which your players will bite.
Anyway, just soem little hints, but we'll talk and see what's up.

I started rping in middle school (Alternity) which I narrated to the best of my youngster ability. I got into 3rd Edition later, myself, but never found anyone who would play.
So interestingly enough, I'm familiar with most of the rules, but I've never played in or GMed anything beyond a few one-shot, single-evening deals. It never panned out into a campaign. I've also played hours and hours of Neverwinter Nights, for what it's worth. ;D
What about Saturdays? =) When are we thinking about having this?
