Hope didn’t have any more seizures, and she hasn’t vomited that we know of for about a week. So today I added her chemotherapy med into her supper. Fingers crossed. We know she’s dying. We’re fighting to prolong her life while it is worth prolonging. Her quality of life is absolutely the most important consideration. I will fall entirely to pieces ( Read more... ) -
Saturday
Hope is doing ok so far. Four seizures on Wednesday, one very brief one Thursday evening, and that’s it so far. Our local vet, Dr. Brad Osgood, is working with the Vet Oncology doc from uW Madison. They put her on prednisone, with the idea of decreasing the inflammation around the tumours in her brain, which are the likely cause of the seizures. ( Read more... ) -

Finished my Saxon 5 strand ring prototype. The piece of sheet needs to be thicker. I used 32 gauge and the twists of the rings beneath it showed through.
I fed Hope her chemo med in her supper. -

That's right, it's an update: since I haven't had any nanobots (yet), I still have MS.

My arm and hand are working a tiny bit better, not a lot, but some. So that's good. The pain is decreasing, again, not a lot, but every little bit helps. I only have 2 Vicodin left, and I'm planning to ( Read more... ) -
Remembrance
To all those who served their country, whichever one that might be, thank you for your service.
My mother's father served in both World Wars. I think I remember Grandma telling me once that he lied about his age for both, so he could go; too young for the 1st, too old for the 2nd. It's a good story, but I don't know if it's true. My great-uncle ( Read more... ) -
Sensation
Thanks so much everyone, for all your love and well-wishing. So far today has been much like yesterday, though I'm running low on Vicodin. I sent a request to the pharmacist for more, but they have to go back-and-forth with the neurologist's office...

MRI, yay and boo.
I got the MRI results today. According to the doctor, my brain is stable, but there is a new active lesion in my cervical spine which accounts for my current symptoms.
Yay for brain being stable (again!), boo for a new lesion. We will discuss if there'll be any treatment changes at my next visit, in about a month.

IV sedation is THE BOMB.
We got to the hospital on time, and checked in. There were some of the same staff from my last MRI, and they recognized me, and were friendly. That was nice. Paperwork (which Paul did for me, cuz I still can't write), then IV in, then off to the MRI room. No, I'm not fine. My MS has flared up again. The up-side is that it isn't my vision this time. The down-side is that it is mostly my right hand; I've lost much of the sensation in my fingers, and pretty much all my fine control of that hand. I can't write, or do up a zipper or buttons, I can't do hand-sewing, or play piano, or reliably pick things ( Read more... )
