A TV-related update.
Not long ago, I finished rewatching all of Joss Whedon's shows, and rather than immediately start over again, figured I would find something actually new to watch. Well, new to me ( Read more... ) -
No. Just, no.
Apparently I'm the only person who didn't like Deathly Hallows Part 2. I liked part 1 and thought it did the story justice. I cannot say the same for the second half.

Feminism and Joss Whedon
I've seen an awful lot lately about whether or not Joss Whedon should be considered a feminist, and how the label can be justified or refuted based on various elements of his TV shows.
This is mostly in response to this, which is very very long (just as a warning), and in case my entry enters tldr-land, which I completely disagree with.

So, I just bought a 2011 Sudoku calendar, because I've cancelled my newspaper subscription and want to be able to still do a puzzle every day. (Still need to order a bridge calendar because I have yet to find a good RSS feed of any daily bridge column ( Read more... ) -
don't waste your money on 3d movies
Really. 3-D adds nothing at all to movies, except bulky, uncomfortable glasses and occasional dizziness, and a higher ticket price, too.
Plus, movie screens are still 2-D, so all you're getting is still only simulated 3-D. If you want true 3-D, see a play ( Read more... ) -

Lessons never learned
The awful excuses for human beings who saw nothing wrong with spying on their roommate and posting the video to the internet need to be punished severely. redundant dead tree mail
I've noticed that there are more than a few businesses that contact me via both email and physical mail to tell me the same thing.
I've tried to turn these features off, and in some cases, it's not actually possible.
The company the held my 401k would send me mail every time I changed my contribution amount. That is, every time I went online ( Read more... )
