There is a campaign to encourage the American Red Cross to change its discriminatory policy regarding blood donation, which has set aside 4/5/06 as the day for people who won't be allowed to donate due to the policy show up and try to give blood to show the American Red Cross how many potential donors they're loosing out on. I have spent over 6 hours researching the issue of drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

The assignment?

To write a one page, double spaced paper.

Which ended up two pages long when I put in the absolute minimum of what I wanted to include. Plus another page of citations.

I am such a geek.

I just finished reading the transcript of The State of the Union address. I am so disturbed by so many things on so many different levels. Like how at least half of the entire speech is about US involvement in other countries. Oh, yeah, and terrorism, and the importance of the Patriot Act. Coming down the hill from the SDC this morning, I saw a rainbow. I watched it shimmer and shift all the way to campus, and glanced back one last time before headed off to my morning class in Walker. I went to see the movie North Country tonight. It's a good movie, in the same vein as Erin Brockovich but with a different fight, and a different message: When you see something terrible happening, the first thing you can do about it is stand up and tell the truth.
