In Edinburgh right now, using a public terminal. It is interesting, 12 midnight, last time I checked the time... dark, lot of lights, lots of beer...

In about a week, I will be graduating from college. The day after graduation, I will be traveling to England and Scotland for a tour (if you want the places and dates, e-mail me) with our University Choir. The tour lasts ten days. When I come back to California, I hope to have a wonderful diary of my experiences in Europe to share.

I've resigned myself to the grueling fate of papers and homework and other things, oh my. I probably won't be writing as much in this journal for a few weeks as before (you know, everyday), and I'll defintely let you know if I am hit by a car, or accidentally walk down an intersection in Chicago at just the precise moment when a scaffold decides ( Read more... )

From this New Scientist article, perhaps scientists could recreate life using particular DNA strands, found in permafrost...

I remember hearing awhile back that NASA might have discovered permafrost on Mars. If that's the case, then perhaps DNA could be extracted from that too.

Fascinating Guardian article on the way that school history textbooks are being rewritten, to embrace the concept of European Union. Now kids are getting a revisionist history with a kinder, gentler past in it, one that the people who were living there probably wouldn't have recognised.
