Chapter 12: No Longer a Little White Lie

I stood before the railing on the deck, watching the moonlight dance gracefully across the rolling surface of the Caribbean waters.

ZeldaQueen: It's great to watch, until the moonlight starts grinding. That's just awkward

The night, though it was humid, felt cold to me.

ZeldaQueen: How angstily symbolik

Perhaps it was because of Tia Dalma’s words, but I knew the reason pertained to Jack’s mark….

ZeldaQueen: Oh for the love of - will you stop milking that for all it's worth?

And ellipses have three periods in them, genius

I sighed. I would do everything in my power to ensure Jack’s safety, even if that meant killing myself to do so. I was willing to risk my life to save his.

ZeldaQueen: I'm not going to stop you

I started from my thoughts upon hearing Gibbs say from behind, “Miss Kate, the cap’n needs to talk to ye. He’s in the stateroom.”

I nodded. “Thank you, Gibbs.”

ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "Now, kiss my hem"

When I entered the stateroom, I found Jack sitting at the table in the center, poring over a map. He looked up at me when I entered, and asked that I shut the door.

ZeldaQueen: He then pulled out his pistol and shot her. "Thirteen years I've carried that shot, and swore to use it for none other than the Sue of Gethesemane that won't leave me alone," he said. "My job is done"

“You told the whelp that we’re married,” he said as he rose from his seat. “Why?”

ZeldaQueen: Because she's a creepy bitch who's eerily possessive?

I shrugged. “It seemed a good idea at the time.”

ZeldaQueen: *stares*

My God.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!

Do you know what that's from? THAT'S FROM FUCKING SALVATION, THAT'S WHAT IT'S FROM! Or that bit of Salvation came from this! I don't know! But seriously, look! Chapter eighteen, Sweeney is being tended to by the doctor and Victoria gives her name as "Victoria Todd", even though she's not married to him! Anthony asks why, and we get.... *drum roll, please*

"It seemed a good notion at the time"

ZeldaQueen: How, Suethor? How do you expect us to believe "it seemed a good idea at the time?" It didn't work there, and it certainly doesn't work here. You honestly expect me to believe that Kate was hung in a ball of human bones, worried out of her mind that she and the crew and Jack (mostly Jack, of course) were going to be killed and eaten and they have the Kraken after the, and she might be forking her soul over to Davy Jones, and her first thought when a random guy asks "Who are you?" is "I'll just go ahead with this sick fantasy that I'm Jack's wife, no reason not to". Why then? Will wouldn't care if she wasn't! He knows that Jack has women around! Heck, even if Gethesemane was worried about implying that her precious Sue was one of Jack's whores, it still doesn't work! Will sailed with Jack in the first movie, when Anamarie was a member of the crew!

I hate this "it's a little lie" thing. I HATE it. It's creepy and horrible and a person who pulls something like that ought to be dumped. It is not right to go around doing stuff like that. It sounds horribly like those people who think that they're secretly in love affairs with celebrities they've never met and spend all of their time introducing themselves as "Mrs. Leno" or something. And I hate it even more because it's supposed to be romantic! To Gethesemane, this is all "sweet" foreshadowing that the two will be married! AUGH!

And, on a less rant-y note, I'd also imagine that Jack would be at the very least really annoyed with Kate for pitching such a fit earlier about how badly he treated her, only to turn around and start declaring that they were married, without any say in the matter

He approached me, and stroked my cheek. “I’m having a thought here, love.

ZeldaQueen: Imagine that. Stop the presses!

What say you to making it official?”

ZeldaQueen: (Jack) "Officially declare you as a Sue. I've already called in the sporkers"

I stared at him. “Jack, are you…serious?”

ZeldaQueen: *buries head in hands* Of course he is. Gethesemane is pulling the strings here

He withdrew from his pocket a glittering object, and held it to me. I recognized it as my engagement ring, the one he had given me ten years before.

ZeldaQueen: And he was just carrying it around, as he raped, pillaged, and plundered his weasley black guts out?

His eyes were filled with nothing but sincerity, and I knew that he was as serious as one could get. I had no choice but to say yes.

ZeldaQueen: Actually, you do. A woman has a right to turn down a proposal, and you can't say "a woman from that time period wouldn't" because a woman from that time period also wouldn't have called Davy Jones sexist. We all know you want to marry him, as evidenced by that sick masquerade, so stop acting like you must

“I take you, Katherine Marina Morgan, to be my wife,” he said softly as he slipped the ring on my finger.

ZeldaQueen: Why does this all remind me of Dragon's Lair 2?

I smiled and answered, “I take you, Captain Jack Alexander Sparrow, to be my husband.”

ZeldaQueen: "Alexander"? Was that ever official, or did the Suethor pull it out of her butt?

The kiss that followed left me nothing short of breathless and trembling with excitement as his arms wrapped tightly around me.

ZeldaQueen: How harlequinn, not to mention out of character. Isn't Kate supposed to be some big, tough pirate chick? And yet the instant she gets kissed, she turns all weak-kneed and giggly.

I'm willing to bet money that Penelope Cruiz's character doesn't get like that in the upcoming movie

I smiled when the kiss broke and whispered, “I suppose it’s no longer a little white lie.”

ZeldaQueen: (Sue) "Now, my dream is complete!" *evil grin*

(AN: sorry for the short chapter, but I don’t have a lot of time.)

ZeldaQueen: I guess you just couldn't wait to fap to that proposal
