I'm so awesome! I ran my very first 5K (as in race, I've run  the distance of five kilometers before) and came in at 32:31.8, which is over 3 minutes better than my previous best time. And Charlie did even better, at 27:13.3. I'm really proud of us. And hey, it's especially not bad considering I only started running about five months ago.

Christmas knitting would be much easier to accomplish if I had cable to watch while I did it.  Or if NPR wasn't having a membership drive. Dear NPR, I love you, I will give you money one day, but I don't have money to give you right now.  Please go back to educating and entertaining me now.

We got a new cat! His name is Bertram, and according to the shelter he's about a year and half old.  He's very sweet, very affectionate, and fairly out going. We already love him massively

So we kept trying medications and hoping the cat would get better, but he isn't.  His kidneys have failed. Tomorrow morning, before Charlie has to go to work, we're going to put him to sleep.

I'm really going to miss Rusty, my little hobo cat.
