Slow first day
Today I started a job which has thus far been pretty boring. But I can't complain as I am presently being paid more than i've ever been paid and there is no work. Like I said, no complaints. -
Practical applications of Gemara
Say two guys own a TV together. One of them turns it on and starts watching. The second one comes along & joins him. The first one then decides he is done watching and ready to go do something else. The booze is a' brewin'
So I took the assorted etrogim I've been given, and chopped them last night. They filled the 5 L jug to capacity. We estimate close packing to be .64. This means that 64% was stuff and 36% was air. Ok, so I divided it between two 5 L jugs. Added 1.5 Kg of honey and 150 g of yeast between the two jugs, divided as evenly as I could manage. ( Read more... ) -

I found the following line in Hoshanot this morning: Kol m'vaser m'vaser v'omer. (The voice of the herald heralds and says). There was a little squee! I can now say Herald in Hebrew.
