Update part 2...
After yesterdays quick post I thought I would give a bit more on what else has been going on. I think it's been mentioned briefly before, but we started brewing small batches of beer. We are both beer drinkers so figured it would be a nice little hobby we could both enjoy. It's turning out quite well.

Absence explained?
I've been trying to decide if and how much LJ I should be using lately. It's a combo of busy and a bit of annoyance with the problems they've had the last couple months. Seems to have finally cleared though, and because I read the friends list every day, I figured I better post. So here is an update.

Hobby part two...
We have a couple batches bottled already but with 4 more in the fermenter our beer will need to go some where soon. We've started saving the empties to clean, fill, and recap. It takes about 22-24 bottles for each batch so we will have to start drinking more. Shucks ;-)

New hobby time.
Dating a guy who is possibly a bigger beer drinker than I am lent itself to a new hobby we can enjoy together. Mr Beer makes a great beginners home brew beer kit that we decided to give a whirl. We've made 6 batches so far that are in various states of brewing. 3 different IPAs (since the husband is a hophead), 2 wheat beers for me, and a Pale Ale ( Read more... ) -
Scarcity
I know I haven't posted in almost a month. I'm a terrible terrible person. In all fairness it has been relatively quiet. Quiet in a good way, I should say.
Work is going well. I started working from home on a full time basis last week. They actually came to the house and installed a system with Dual Monitors similar to what I was using in the ( Read more... ) -
June stuff ...
It's the second week of June already and just sweltering hot and humid. This does not bode well for the rest of our summer. Weather calls for 99 degrees today. Thankfully there is AC everywhere.
Also in June we have a new Zombie. I can't believe I missed posting this earlier.

Working for the weekend.
I'm sitting in a departmental meeting today and the first activity we are doing is stress relief exercises. It's one of those presentations where we set goals and focus on what you can do in your personal and work life to reduce stress and get to a good mental place. New Car time.
I went and did it. Traded in the shoebox for a new Golf TDI. Not really sure why I did it other then I got a wild hair. Saying all that though I have no regrets. It's a great car that is fun to drive. Plus the boyfriend looks good sitting in it.

Mid month already?
Where does the time go? Hard to believe it's already been a couple weeks since the first of May.
