Evil and a heathen

My parents were the anti-religious hippies of the neighbourhood. They didn't care if we went to church and couldn't care less that we had no bible learnin'.

So I do not know why I remember watching this creepy TV show.

Oh, Hi, Marci Ian! I recognize you from Canada AM! I'm glad my trusted broadcasters were on weird Christian shows as children ( Read more... )

I used to watch that show! Even as a kid, I knew there was something not right going on there.

Holy shit. If you'd described it, I wouldn't have remembered, but I could actually SING ALONG to the theme song when I clicked the Youtube Link. It's like a hazy bad dream; I must have watched it, too.

Oh god, that's like the creepiest puppet ever. The bridesmaid thing is pretty creepy too and I don't really understand it. If you're a Christian and a little kid, don't you pretty much get a free pass to Jesus' party?

I'm not sure if I've ever seen this show, but it seems kind of familiar. There's no way my family would've let me watch this, but I wouldn't be surprised if they showed it in my (lulz public) elementary school.

My parents definitely weren't the anti-religious hippies of the neighbourhood, but all I remember of that show is turning the channel everytime it came on. Yikes!!

Sad, really.

That is pretty sad, Mike! If it makes you feel any better, I can recite MuchMusic's address: 299 Queen Street East. Toronto, ON. M5V 2Zsomething. I think.

We only had 2 channels until about grade 3...when we got one of those huge sat dishes...so Circle Square was on quite a bit in the olden days (early 80s). Not that we were hooked. Those jingles just stick with you.

Your addy memorization is much, much cooler.

I was talking about this with a guy from work and he immediately launched into the jingle. "Circle Square wants to hear from you!"
