I send good thoughts for you, and especially for you working with Giddy. (The Blonde Dog is so full of neuroses, it isn't funny.)

The Blonde Dog is a rescue, so she may have gone through some trauma in her previous life that sparked her neuroses. I've know Giddy since birth. She's never been dropped or anything, but she's terrified of heights. (Even as a puppy I couldn't hold her in my arms like a baby - she was terrified.) She'll happily go into a wire crate, since she can see out the sides, but she WILL NOT enter a vari-kennel or a soft crate, nor a small room. And she's so wired if we go anywhere that she can't focus and learn anything. The seminar is supposed to help with teaching her to calm on command among other things.

I hope Flyer DOESN'T give me excitement at the Rally trials! If she's in a cooperative mood she can be quite a good obedience/rally dog. She's not been cooperative the last few days. And I want Giddy to calm down; she's too wired to focus at all when we go anywhere.

Fingers crossed and a little prayer said. Sounds challenging for all of you! Enjoy yourselves though regardless!

*hugs*

Flyer won't be challenged by anything; she's the most confident dog in the universe. She may, however, not be in the mood to do the Rally exercises the AKC approved way. She can be very...creative at times, and Obedience/Rally Judges really don't appreciate creativity.

I may have a nervous breakdown at the trials and the seminar, though, and Giddy may find the seminar a major challenge. She's the sweetest dog to ever be born, but she's not one of God's brighter lights.

Flyer and I tried agility before my stroke. She loved it. I wasn't up to the challenge, though. I'd forget the course order, and if she took an obstacle out of the judge's designated order, she busted. No agility titles for my dogs. :-(

Best of luck! But do take it easy if you need to, and don't do too much. :D

I've already told my husband not to expect ANY house cleaning or grocery shopping until it's all over. The oomph to get anything done just isn't going to be there.
