SNOW!!!!
By Houston standards, we have a blizzard! Flurries started about 7PM last night. This morning we awoke to 1 or 2 inches on the ground. I am 62 years old, and I've only seen this much snow 5 times in my life. Schools are delaying their starts by 2-3 hours, and some offices as well. Freeway overpasses are closed. Hi! Long time no post!
And again I'm talking dogs. In March 2015 a good friend from grade school looked me up on Facebook and saw me whining that I needed a power wheelchair and couldn't afford one. Medicare/Insurance says if I can hobble around my tiny house I don't need a chair. I can walk 20-30 steps and stand for a couple of minutes, so I don't qualify. The grade ( Read more... ) -
Coming out of lurkdom to brag...
Some of you will recall that I train and show my dogs, and fought my way back to it after a stroke 9 years ago. Sadly, my mobility has regressed to the point that I can't be on my feet enough to do it anymore, but I have wonderful friends in my training and flyball clubs who have taken over Kaylee's training and showing. My girl is a beauty queen!
Finally had something to drag me out of my non-posting lethargy. My youngest Flat-Coated Retriever Kaylee showed yesterday and today in Crosby Texas. She took Winners Bitch and Best Opposite both days for 2 3-point majors. That brings her to 3 majors and 11 points. Long time no see!
I've been here every day reading my FL, but haven't posted to my own LJ in 18 months?!!
2011 has been a pretty dull year, but I'll be glad to see it gone. Too many calamities have hit too many friends(both virtual and RL) this year; may 2012 bring much better things for us all! -
I've been fretting about this weekend for weeks.
