I have to send a business letter to Mark Vonnegut. Does anyone think it would be inappropriate for me to include a note expressing my admiration for The Eden Express?
So I just got an email from a client who's having trouble using my company's online services. Some sort of problem with her login, I was able to gather after putting the words from her message into some sort of coherent order. She closed off with "What do I use now!!!!!"
I'd really like to tell her "a question mark. And just the one." Should I?
I just took minutes in a staff meeting. As notetaker, I was required to start the meeting off with a joke. My boss was all dressed up despite it being casual day, so I pointed to his tie and said "that's my joke." He replied, "I'm going to a wake."
Apparently my company has a list of terms that are considered "acceptable ebonics." Well, not so much a list as a philosophy, I reckon. Either way, I am insensitive if I laugh at someone for typing the word "mine's" instead of "my."
PS - The Spaghetti Incident? is much better than I remembered.
