My birthday and Christmas are too close together. I don't know if I'll be able to wait until December 25th for any of these items, but I've assembled a modest Christmas list all the same:

I decided today that I should try to post at least a small entry every day. I know that I will fail miserably in this endeavor, especially since tomorrow Matt is coming (TO VISIT! IN JAPAN!) but I'm banking on that shoot for the moon and land in a pile of stars philosophy to make the commitment a still worthwhile endeavor.

I spent the past hour or so reading old entries. My twelfth grade self is so cool! I can hardly believe that I was the one saying all of those things even though I remember (some of) the events and they are described with distinctly Nicole diction. Why did I stop writing why why why?

I realized that, in all of my entries about my emotional journey throughout the study abroad experience, I've neglected entirely to describe any of the tourist attractions that I've visited thus far in Japan!
