I finished my e-course.  I got all 30 lessons coded into the autoresponder.  I set up a pay pal button for ordering it.  I figured out how to get pay pal to redirect after paying to a website where I coded the sign up form for the autoresponder.  HELLO!  I'm a geek ( Read more... )

Several years ago, I used to sell Kathy's art on Ebay for a commission. It sold very well. I've always loved that kind of art.

Sounds like you've had a productive day, my friend! Good for you!!!

Do you know Kathy? I just love her playfulness and attitude. I really wish I could take a vacation and just play with all the ideas she has inspired :)

The cool thing about the course is that you don't have to do anything. There are activities and ideas, but you can do them whenever you want. It's not the kind of course where you have to do one day to be ready for the next. I hope you'll find time for it, if it's the sort of thing you're intersted in.

There are some people who are very angry at me because I claim the book is basic and not technical.  They don't know the first thing about opening a program or a file, and they are mad at me!  I am being patient with them, and really trying to help them, but for $20 you can't expect one on one tutoring, can you?You don't owe them anything more than they bought. I echo your wonderment that anyone so inexperienced with a computer would be so clueless as to think they were going to start with Photoshop ... much less require that you tell them every single step. If there has been more than the one (forgive my French) dumbass, I would craft a nice one paragraph stock email suggesting that they get themselves to the nearest community college and take a basic computer course. Then wish them luck. And yes, maybe a tiny disclaimer on your page that at the very least, basic computer knowledge is a prerequisite. Geez ( ... )

Things have been calmer with them the last couple of days. But I am indeed going to put a disclaimer on my page. You'd think people who know that, but on the internet you're dealing with ALL kinds of people.

I am so happy for you that you got your course done! I think you should put a basic requirements for operation: Windows and whatever else you might need before you venture into graphics! I would give the money back to the woman and tell her to get lost! It will take up too much of your time to try to placate her. I'm just catching up with live joournal and emails today and tomorrow, so I will get back to you about some other stuff!

Vickie, like i said in the comment above, you'd assume people would know, but as I continue in this business I am learning not to assume anything! I look forward to hearing from you.

Kathy C-M wrote the shrines and Shadow Boxes book I have. I spent way too much time looking at projects on her site last night! LOL But I got some ideas for a project that has been driving me nuts trying to find ideas for ( ... )

I'm glad you got some inspiration from Kathy's site. I'm glad you and Tom got a laugh from the obit. Judy and I laughed and laughed at that! I told her to send it to Jay Leno.

I hope you will enjoy Elements. It's so fun to play with digital image editing, the possibilities are endless!
