“Should I let him get an abortion?” Yoochun breathed, his head hung in his hands as he sat next to Junsu’s bed, the younger boy seeming to sleep peacefully.
Turmoil and pain spread through Yoochun’s body as he stared down at the boy he so loved. Was he doing the wrong thing by making Junsu go through with this? What would he do if Junsu ended up dying? So many questions, and yet there wasn’t an answer in sight.
Junsu’s thin form stirred on the bed, drawing Yoochun’s back to the smaller boy.
“Hey, Love.” He breathed softly, his hand coming out to caress Junsu’s cheek.
“Chunnie?” Came the hoarse response, pale lids fluttering back as Junsu turned to look at his husband.
“What are you doing here?” He questioned softly, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.
“I’ve been waiting for you to wake-up, Pabo.” He smiled fondly at his dolphin, his fingers now gently pushing Junsu’s hair away from his eyes. He couldn’t comprehend how one small face could make his heart beat so fast. To him, Junsu was perfection personified. There was no face, no smile, no one person as perfect as his dolphin.
“How long have I been asleep?” Was his simple reply, his eyes fluttering shut as he enjoyed the touch of his lover.
“Around three days, Love.” Yoochun responded softly, leaning forward to press the gentlest of kisses on Junsu’s forehead.
“I’m sorry, Chunnie. I didn’t mean to make you so worried.” The voice was soft, repentant.
“It’s not your fault at all, Su. Don’t be sorry for anything.”
“Ah, so Sleeping Beauty has chosen to awake and grace us with his presence?” Changmin laughed as he strolled into the hospital room, bending at the waist to offer Junsu a flourished bow.
“Yeah.” He responded, a soft smile pulling at his lips. “Sorry if I made you guys worry.” Junsu added, casting apologetic looks at all of his hyungs.
“Ah, don’t be sorry, this was just the rest everyone needed.” Changmin supplied, waving his hand in the air as if he were shooing away an annoying fly.
“In fact, should you decided to collapse more often, we might thank you for it.” He added, his eyebrows wiggling before he narrowly dodged a slap from Jaejoong.
“Gosh, Changmin, you had to go and ruin the sweet moment.” The eldest growled as he pushed past Changmin and moved to stare down at Junsu with a fond smile.
“How are you feeling?”
“Great, hyung. I’m feeling great.”
Yoochun could hear the strain on the younger’s voice, showing that he wasn’t “great” and that more than likely, he was in some kind of mental or physical pain. It hurt him to see Junsu offering the group such a strong front. ‘He’s stronger than all of us.’ Yoochun found himself thinking as he stared fondly at Junsu.
“We’re so happy you’re feeling okay, Junsu.” Yunho added as he waddled towards the bed, a fond smile pulling at his lips.
“The apartment could really use your happiness.” He added as he sat down on Junsu’s bed, his hand resting lightly on the younger boy’s left leg.
“Thanks, Hyung.”
“Well you don’t have to worry about the food.” Changmin cut in, a mischievous smile cutting across his face, “Yunho ate your share for your three days. Granted, it only took him one day to do it…but it still counts.”
This drew an amused laugh from Junsu, causing everyone in the room to smile. It seemed like an eternity since the last time they’d heard Junsu laugh so lightly.
“Ha, I knew you could still laugh.” Changmin, smiled triumphantly, his arms crossed over his chest in a self-satisfied manner.
“Are you hungry, Su?” Yoochun cut in, a soft smile pulling across his face as his finger stroked lightly against Junsu’s smooth face.
“No, I’m not hungry.” He responded, smiling up at Yoochun.
The older male could clearly see the strain now. It was obvious Junsu was simply offering everyone the picture they wanted to the see…the picture that would make everyone else happy.
“Would you guys mind if I had a private moment with Junsu?” Yoochun questioned, shifting his head to glance at the other three members.
“Oh sure.” Jaejoong quickly responded, helping Yunho to his feet before ushering his dongseangs out the door.
“What’s the matter, Yoochun?” Junsu questioned, his brow furrowing slightly as he spoke.
Yoochun let out a soft sigh before relaxing into his chair, dark eyes flickering across Junsu’s round face. “Are you happy, Love?” He questioned, his expression edging into one of slight sorrow and pain.
“Of course I am, Chunnie. How could I not be happy when you’re here?” The younger boy questioned him, a strained smile pulling at his full lips.
“Please don’t lie to me, Junsu. I want to know if you’re alright. Truthfully.” Yoochun watched as Junsu’s expression froze, his smile dimming as he stared back at him.
“I’m scared.” He finally muttered, his eyes shifting towards the cover that was spread across his lap as small fingers plucked at nonexistent lint.
“Why are you scared, Love?” Yoochun questioned, trying to ignore the rush of emotion that was tugging at his heart. It hurt so badly to see Junsu sitting here in a hospital bed all because of him.
“I’m scared because I want to die.”
Yoochun felt the air flee his lungs as his heart constricted painfully as Junsu’s words registered in his head. “Surely you don’t mean that…” He trailed off, tears burning his eyes as he fought to remain in control of his raging emotions.
“I do mean it.” Junsu responded without a moment of hesitation, his dark, fear-stained eyes lifted to look at Yoochun, “if I had a way to kill myself at this very moment, I would do it…” He trailed off, his lip quivering slightly as tears pooled in his eyes, “but I don’t know why. Everything seems so…so…hopeless.”
“What about me, Junsu? What about the other members? Don’t you care about what your death would do to us?” Yoochun breathed as he fought to keep the tears from spilling down his cheeks.
Junsu shook his head slowly, his eyes dull as he shifted his gaze to the wall in front of his bed, “I don’t care anymore. I just want to stop feeling. I want to die.”
“Stop it, Junsu!” Yoochun found himself growling, the tears now running freely down his face, “Don’t you still love me? Isn’t that enough to keep you living?” It hurt so badly, like someone was squeezing his heart tightly.
“I don’t love anyone anymore.” Junsu responded, his eyes shutting as he leaned his head back, tears still trekking down his pale skin. “Just let me find some peace, Chunnie. Stop trying to drag me behind you. I’m too tired to keep trying.”
The words hurt him so badly. He’d made Junsu go through with this pregnancy because he felt it would make them grow closer. And now he was here, the love of his life telling him to go away…to let him die in peace. Everything was his fault. If Junsu died, if the baby died with him…it would all be Yoochun’s fault. He’d been so selfish to make Junsu go through with this; karma must have been teaching him a lesson by threatening to take his love and his child away from him.
“Stop it…” Yoochun muttered as he backed away from Junsu’s bed, his mind an incoherent mess, his eyes fogged with tears.
His hand touched the cool metal of the doorknob; he turned to jerk the door open and dash out. He had to save Junsu before he lost everything that was important to him.
He stumbled, tripping over his own feet as he blinked madly, trying to rid them of the tears.
“Yoochun…?” Jaejoong questioned, his brow furrowing as Yoochun stumbled down the hall, not even seeming to notice him.
“Where’s the doctor?” The younger male breathed, his body rushing with panic as he turned dark eyes on the face of his concerned hyung.
“He’s talking to Yunho in the waiting room…” Jaejoong trailed off, gesturing towards the general direction of the waiting room, “Why?”
Yoochun ignored his question and quickly stumbled down the hall at a run, his mind kept pulling up images of Junsu lying in a pool of his own blood…or Junsu lying white within a coffin, all signs of his former exuberance gone.
Yoochun pushed through the set of swinging doors, his blurred eyes scanning the waiting room, stopping on the elder man he knew to be the doctor.
“Yoochun?” He saw Changmin rise from his chair, but ignored him as he moved towards the doctor.
“Take it out!” He growled, gripping the front of the doctor’s coat with a look of agony. “Take the baby out of him, Now!” Yoochun commanded, shaking the smaller man slightly.
“Yoochun you need to calm down.” The doctor soothed in a gentle voice, seeming unfazed by Yoochun’s sudden outburst.
Yoochun heard the doctor’s words but was too wrapped up within his own fears to understand the man’s words. “Take it out…take it out. Take it out!” He screamed, agony pulsing through his veins as his mind conjured up even more images of Junsu dying. He had no idea that one human could feel so much pain and agony at one time.
“Stop it, Yoochun!” He heard Changmin growl as the youth came up behind him, strong arms coming out to pull him away from the now flustered doctor.
“Please!” He heard himself groan as he sank to his knees, that single word still pouring from his lips as sobs began to forcefully shake his body.
“Please. Please. Please.” He groaned, rocking back and forth on the floor as he tried to stop himself from imagining life without his love.
“Help me get him up.”
Yoochun vaguely heard the doctor’s words through his haze of pain and anger.
“No, you have to give Junsu an abortion! Now!” He growled, jerking free of Changmin’s hold.
“He’s too far along in his pregnancy, Yoochun. Giving him an abortion in his current condition would only do him more harm than good.”
“You’re lying! He’s going to die if you don’t give him this abortion!”
“Nobody is going to die, Yoochun. Please calm down.” The doctor lifted his head to look at the nurse at the reception desk, “send a nurse to check on Mr. Kim, and have a room preped from Mr. Park, please.”
The receptionist gave a firm nod before lifted a black phone out of its cradle and pressing it to her ear. She pressed a few buttons, paused for a second, then began to speak, “Yes, I need a room prepared ASAP, I also need a nurse to check in on the patient in room 235.” She paused, listening to someone on the other end of the line, “okay, thank you.” She muttered quickly before she hung-up the phone and turned to look at the doctor, “room 717 is being prepared for you, Doctor.” She told him quickly, watching as Changmin and the doctor dragged a sobbing Yoochun out of the room.

“Get me a shot of morphine.” The doctor commanded a willowy nurse as he lowered Yoochun onto the crisp bed of the hospital room.
“Right away, Doctor.” The nurse replied quickly before she turned and left the room.
She returned within five minutes, a syringe clasped in her left hand.
“No!” Yoochun growled, struggling against Changmin’s tight grip. “Let me go!” He shouted, beginning to thrash violently as the doctor moved towards him, “I've got to save him!” He pressed his shoulders upwards, trying to break Changmin’s grip.
“Hold him still.” The doctor commanded, holding the syringe away from Yoochun’s flailing limbs.
Changmin moved till he was nearly lying on top of Yoochun, grunting in pain as Yoochun’s knee made contact with his groin. “Hurry!” He growled, voice raised a pitch higher.
“Just hold him still…” The doctor muttered as he positioned the needle before quickly stabbing it into Yoochun’s arm.
As the morphine began to take effect, Yoochun’s movements become weaker and sluggish as he was pulled into a medicine induced sleep.
“Please.” He muttered in a whisper before he went limp on the bed, his eyes closed in slumber.
“Can I move now?” Changmin asked in a strained voice.
“Yes.” The doctor replied absently as he glanced over a chart a nurse had handed him.
“OH!” Changmin rolled off of Yoochun and curled into a ball on the floor, his knees pulled up close to his chest, “I’m going to kill him when he wakes up!” He growled, closing his eyes tightly as he fought the waves of pain washing over him.
“Are you alright?” The doctor questioned, a slight chuckle edging his words.
“Just peachy.” Changmin replied in a voice two pitches higher than his usual.
“Thank you for the help.” The doctor added, smiling down at Changmin.
“Yeah, anytime, Doc.”
“Well then, when you’re…able…you can let yourself out.” The doctor chuckled slightly as he turned on his heel and strode from the room, a nurse at his elbow, muttering something in a hurried fashion.
After another minute or so, Changmin uncurled his legs and stood from the ground, casting a dirty look at Yoochun as he moved from the room.

“Is he alright?”
Changmin cocked an eyebrow at Jaejoong, who had attacked him the moment he’d walked through the hospital doors.
“Yeah, he’s fine. How’s Junsu?” He questioned back, his eyes filling with slight concern.
“The doctors say he’s fine. He just hasn’t had his medication lately, so everything was…worse today.” Jaejoong responded softly, his eyes filled with a sorrowful look. “I wonder what he did that made Yoochun so upset…” He trailed off, his dark eyes staring off into space.
“I don’t think it really matters, just so long as both of them are okay.” Changmin responded as he moved past Jaejoong and returned to his laptop.
Upon opening the lid, Changmin felt a thrill run through his body as he saw his mail icon was flashing.
He hovered the cursor over the icon, clicked, and watched as the box unfolded across the screen.
Hello Changmin,
I’m sorry that I didn’t e-mail you sooner. It’s hard to come by a computer on the ship.
So how are you doing, Changmin? Ah, it feels so good to say your name.
It’s like I’ve been underwater for a long time, and I’m just now getting a fresh breath of oxygen.
It was nothing compared to seeing you again.
I don’t think anything will ever compare to that. The rush of excitement and…love.
Yes, I still love you, Changmin. After five years I still love you as much as the day you held me in your arms not long after we’d met.
How could I not love the only person who was the only one to truly care about me?
I still dream about you. Every night I see your face in my dreams.
Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt me, it only makes me feel closer to you…like you never really left me.
Oh, I have to go, the lunch rush will be hitting soon. It’s funny how hungry people seem to get when they’re on a boat. The food isn’t even that good, yet they eat it like it’s the best thing they’ve ever had.
Anyway, I love you and hope to see you soon.
Love always, Haneul.
Changmin sighed and leaned back in his chair, his eyes raking over the e-mail as he read through it for a third time. What he wouldn’t have given to have Haneul in his arms at that very moment.
Hello my Sky,
It’s alright that you didn’t write back sooner. I’ve been really busy lately.
I still miss you though. I’ll always miss you, no matter how much time passes.
I’m glad to know you’re happy, Hannie. I always worry that you’re off somewhere crying.
You always did love to cry. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. Not you crying! Just how cute you are when you cry. I remember how you used to curl-up in my lap and just sob until you fell asleep.
It made me love you even more…if that’s at all possible.
I wish I could be with you now. The thought of you is what keeps me going every day.
You’re my inspiration to work harder.
Everybody probably loves the food because it’s being served by you, Love.
Remember, I love you more than anything else in this world, my Heaven.
Love, Minnie.
