I know in most (if not all) hispanic cultures it's standard to pierce the ears of girls as babies. I have memories from when I was young of my mom buying me little studs with butterflies and hearts to match my clothes. I'm wondering if anyone here from Chicago or Illinois can comment on any work Sen. Obama has done in their community or for the greater Hispanic community in the state. Sen. Obama has repeatedly referred to the support he garnered from Hispanic voters in his state, and I'm hoping someone from the area can speak to that.
