I have just written a comparative essay/critique over Shakespeare's Macbeth and "Throne of Blood" by Akira Kurosawa for Japanese class. They were actually very interesting. Kurosawa was a director who took painstaking efforts to layer symbolism in his films. Fascinating stuff ( Read more... )

I write how I think. But unlike my thoughts, I read, reread, rereread, and rerereread everything before I post it. It's some sort of OCD thing. o.0

Lol. I love the way you write. I love the art of your thought processes and how poetically you communicate them. If you ever wrote a book, even an autobiography, I would buy it. Lol, I wish you had written the DaVinci Code instead of Dan Brown. Then it would've been perfect. ^_^

No, I don't think we write how we think, but I think it's a lot closer than how we talk. I guess how we think will always be something a little bit private. Like, you write stuff here on livejournal for everyone to see, but if someone said they had the means to be in your head for one day, and asked if you would do it, would you let them? I wouldn't. Even if they were someone really really close to me.

Yeah, I definitely notice the advertising in movies. People drinking Coke, billboards in movies, all that kind of stuff. It's hard to discern the advertising from what they just need to use as props, but I guess their choice of any product is probably because that company is paying them.

I don't think I would let someone be in my head either.

What's nuts is that advertisers have now positioned themselves to be seen as "cool" by teens. That makes them, in turn, think that "product placement" in film is cool, which will lead them to consume the products. Vicious cycle...

"Do you suppose that you think the way you write?" That would be correct. That's why I don't articulate as well in my speech. I spend so much time internalizing everything that when it comes time to be an extrovert and speak outwardly it may/may not come out as well.

You wanna talk product placement? Watch "i Robot" with Will Smith and Shia LeBouf and...probably a ton of other big names but that'll suffice.

There was a rant I found online about it. If I can find the link I'll pass it along. I laughed so hard I about cried.
