Here's my conclusion (ya, i skipped the intro. conclusion is what ppl read anyways): being shomer negiah is so much easier than being shomer on kol isha. not that this has any relevance to anything. . .
Being shomer negiah is so much easier when you aren't dating, whereas kol isha involves not singing anywhere outside of your room/shower (ahem - disney songs in the shower is what I live for...okay, not really, but I do that anyway).
In conclusion, there is no conclusion. Both are hard, we live, we're good Jews. The end :)
my point exactly - i can never sing, whether dating or not! i think that given the (lack of) quality that my voice has, i should be allowed to sing. i mean really, there ain't no guy who can actually be attracted to my voice! also, i think there should be kol Ish. 1.) its only fair 2.) girls can be just as attracted to men's voices as they can to ours. im done my rant now
ya i don't know!!! kol ishea is weird!!! i love singing.. and it's annoying when i can't!! u have a good voice!!! not that i know how it sounds like... i don't think i have ever heard u sing... ya it's easy to be shomer negia.. when all u have around u is seminary girls!!!
AV!!! I think I've made a point of telling every guy I date- no fair, you can sing and I can't, I hope you're satisfied! When you think of it it's actually a good way to test the guy's rama datit! Because one guy said "but there's a heyter to hum" (which is not true, I checked) and one said "you're right, don't sing". You get the picture. Very frustrating indeed. But as Rebecca said in the beginning, we're hear to be good Jews. What can ya do.
